Our Ethos and British Values
Our Ethos
Inspire-Believe-Achieve
All of the children; all of the time
Our aim at Brandhall Primary is to provide a curriculum that shapes value driven, global citizens with the skills to confidently communicate and explore the world; embracing similarities and celebrating differences in a culture that inspires ambition and aspiration.
We believe every child deserves an inclusive and experience rich education and their time at Brandhall should be remembered with happiness and pride in their achievements.
At the end of their time at Brandhall, we want all our children to leave:
- Having made excellent progress and achieved to the very best of their ability.
- With the skills and attributes necessary to be happy and successful on the next stage of their journey.
- With wonderful memories of enriching experiences and strong friendships forged from a broad and inclusive curriculum.
- With the confidence and self-esteem to become responsible and effective citizens.
Our Values and British Values
Respect – Honesty – Belonging – Compassion – Courage – Ambition
Fundamental British Values underpin our curriculum and our school values support the development of well-rounded pupils. We create opportunities for these values to be modelled and explored enabling our pupils to leave prepared for life in modern Britain.
Democracy
In school pupils have regular opportunities to exercise their right to vote through the election of pupil voice groups and vote on key changes within school. We look at issues around democracy as they come up in current affairs.
The Rule of Law
The importance of law is consistently reinforced throughout school in discussions around behaviour and safety and in PSHE and SMSC sessions.
Individual Liberty
Children are encouraged to make choices and exercise their pupil voice in a safe and secure environment. We educate and provide boundaries for children to explore their right to speak in a safe and respectful manner.
Mutual Respect
Respect is the first value in our school year and is modelled and celebrated throughout the year, pupils encourage each other and recognise when they have given or received respect and our other core values.
Tolerance of those with Different Faiths and Beliefs
Our broad RE and SMSC curriculum develops pupil’s knowledge and understanding of the many diverse groups that make up our community.
