Phonics

At Brandhall Primary School we use ‘Little Wandle Letters and Sounds’ to teach phonics.

Every child is taught phonics from Reception through to the end of Key Stage One. Phonics sessions are taught daily and are at least 20 minutes long with pupils being taught in ability groups. Provision is organised for the small number of pupils who have not completed the phonics programme by the end of Key Stage One.
